Resume Copilot MCP Service
Resume Copilot MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a service that lets you create, customize, and download professional PDF resumes through AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. This section explains how we handle your data when you use the MCP service.
What Data We Collect Through MCP
When you use the Resume Copilot MCP service, you may provide the following personal information:
- Full name, email address, phone number, and location
- Date of birth
- Professional title and summary
- Work experience (companies, positions, dates, descriptions)
- Education history (institutions, degrees, fields of study)
- Skills, languages, and certifications
- Projects, awards, volunteering, and hobbies
- Social media links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, and others)
- Profile photo (JPEG, PNG, or WebP format)
Where Your Data Comes From
All personal data processed by the MCP service comes directly from you. You provide this information through your conversation with an AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT), which then passes it to the MCP service to build your resume. We do not collect data from any other sources.
How We Use Your MCP Data
The personal information you provide through the MCP service is used solely to:
- Generate your resume using the template you selected or customized
- Render a preview of your resume in HTML format
- Create a downloadable PDF version of your resume
Legal Basis for Processing MCP Data
We process your personal data based on your explicit consent, which you provide by submitting your information through the AI assistant for resume creation. You can withdraw consent at any time by simply not using the service — since data is automatically deleted within 1 hour, no further action is needed.
How We Store MCP Data
Your resume data is stored temporarily in server memory (RAM) only. It is not saved to any database or file system. Specifically:
- Resume data is automatically deleted after 1 hour
- Uploaded photos are automatically deleted after 15 minutes
- All data is lost when the server restarts
- We do not keep any copies of your resume data after it expires
International Data Transfers (MCP)
The MCP service is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the United States (South Central US region). If you are located outside the United States, your resume data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the MCP service, you consent to this transfer. Your data remains subject to the protections described in this policy regardless of where it is processed.
Third-Party AI Services
When you use the custom template feature (custom resume creation or style editing), we send your style customization instructions and the template structure to Google Cloud (Gemini models via Vertex AI) to generate a custom HTML resume template.
We do not send any of your personal resume content (name, contact details, work experience, education, etc.) to this AI service. The AI processes only visual design instructions and is used solely to generate the template, not to process your personal data.
Google Cloud has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data: cloud.google.com/terms/cloud-privacy-notice.
Your Rights Regarding MCP Data
Because the MCP service stores data temporarily in memory with automatic deletion, your data is handled with privacy by design. You have the right to:
- Automatic deletion: Your data is automatically removed after 1 hour (resumes) or 15 minutes (photos) without any action needed from you
- No persistent storage: We do not store your resume data in any database, so there is no long-term data to request access to or delete
- Control what you share: You choose what personal information to include in your resume. All fields except name, email, and professional title are optional
- Download your data: You can download your resume as a PDF at any time before it expires
